Objectives:
- Bring awareness and preparedness to the general public
- Encourage the practice of physical activity and sport amongst the disabled community throughout Europe
- Develop sustainable sporting activities for all levels of all ages:
- sports camps,
- competitions
- sport development programs,
- fitness & well being weeks/programs
The ELMA project is a visionary concept which aims to create a high level sport & leisure environment for people with disabilities. The project foresees the Area of Vuokatti/ Sotkamo serving as a pilot for the implementation of a real barrier-free environment in which all level sport and physical activity can be practiced and sustained. It also drives towards implementing a renewed and positive image of disabled sport through information; education and promotion of Para-sport vis-a-vie Seminars, publications, Paralympic & All Inclusive events, coaching and specialization of coaches, officials and classifiers. The preliminary process will take place from March 2010 – March 2011.
