PROJECT:
The Able-Access for All Exchange (AAAE) project was developed under the objectives defined by the call for proposals itself.
The projects will focus on studying and developing a model(s) which allow individuals with disabilities to easily and economically access holidays during a country’s off-peak tourist season through multilateral cooperation and promotion of the stakeholders.
The project’s belief is that social and economic viability for all agents, directly or indirectly involved, can benefit from a strategy which promotes low seasonality for favourable service to specific target groups i.e people with disabilities) as well as improve accessibility.
OBJECTIVES:
AAAE will offer insight into the possibilities of developing an exchange network for specific groups of citizens among all EU Member States and through national stakeholders and organizations. The purpose of the project AAAE will analyze the possibilities for transnational exchanges via partner organizations or National Authorities. Using a Living Lab process, it will be possible to recognize pros and cons of each product/program, as well as viability. Finally, AAAE will launch multi-country exchange program to be launched once the project finishes.
The AAAE project for transnational exchange of tourists with disabilities is to impact:
v End-users: Equal opportunity to travel.
v Employment: Long term over seasonal employment
v Tourism sector: extending tourism seasonality, improving business
v Other sectors: Overall advantages of Accessibility for everyone
v Destinations: image improvement.
v Governments: set up an active employment and equal rights policy (or a review of...). |
